Vulvar cancer is rare and occurs when malignant cells form in a woman’s external genitalia. Most often affecting the outer vaginal lips, it also can affect the inner vaginal lips, clitoris or vaginal glands.
Our gynecologic oncology team will diagnose your cancer’s stage or spread with a pelvic exam, Pap test, colposcopy or other procedures, as well as X-rays, MRI and PET and CT scans. Our surgeons may perform video-assisted laparoscopic, vaginal, and robotic thoracic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System and may recommend chemotherapy, radiation, hormonal and complementary therapies.
