Patrick Kelly, MD, PhD, practices at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center, where he serves as the director of radiation oncology research. He specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal and breast malignancies and he is adept in several clinical skills including stereotactic radiosurgery, proton beam radiation therapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy for lung, liver cancer and spinal metastases. He is board certified in radiation oncology. Dr. Kelly is trained in proton therapy, a new advanced treatment instituted at Orlando Health in 2016, and only available in a few cancer centers nationwide. Dr. Kelly graduated summa cum laude with his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

He completed a combined MD/PhD degree program at Duke University, followed by an internship at the University of Florida. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Kelly has published more than 30 papers and holds multiple patents related to the treatment of cancer. In addition to coordinating the radiation oncology clinical research efforts at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center, his current research focuses on the improving outcomes through the application of multimodality treatment in rectal and esophageal cancer and improving the delivery of proton beam radiation therapy.
