Omar E. Beidas, MD, is a surgeon with the Orlando Health Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Institute. Dr. Beidas performs reconstructive procedures in support of a wide range of surgical specialties, including general, cardiac, dermatologic and orthopedic surgeries. His specialties include breast reconstruction following breast cancer surgery and body contouring following weight loss surgery.
Dr. Beidas earned his bachelor of science degree in bioscience and biotechnology from Drexel University followed by a medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He then completed a research fellowship at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, leading a variety of clinical research projects for the division of plastic surgery. Dr. Beidas completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Oklahoma and a fellowship in body contouring and life after weight loss at the University of Pittsburgh, where he also served as a clinical instructor in the department of plastic surgery at the university’s medical center.
Dr. Beidas is a member of the American Medical Association and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, written several chapters for medical texts, and presented his work at national meetings.
